Bluegrass Big Country Bluegrass delivers their own
style of authentic, hard-driving style of bluegrass that makes them crowd favorites wherever they perform from festivals and concerts across this
country to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. With two decades of experience
under their belts, the band offers the very best of traditional bluegrass
music. Their sound is reminiscent of hearing Bill Monroe and and Lester Flat
and Earl Scruggs at their very best.

Elkville String Band
The Elkville String Band was
formed in 2001 to perform the music for the play "Tom Dooley, A Wilkes County
Legend" which is an annual event, held in July, and put on by the Wilkes
Playmakers. The group which claims to have over a hundred years experience
between them have a unique old-time sound. Elkville
String Band focuses on keeping the old songs and ballads of the
mountains of North Carolina and Virginia alive. Some of their crowd favorites
date back to the early 1800's.Four of the finest musicians performing old time music today.
- The Whitetop Mountain
Band
The Whitetop Mountain Band
is a family-based band from Whitetop an area containing the highest mountains of Virginia. Whitetop
is
a region rich in the old time music tradition; this band has deep
roots in mountain music. The members have done much to preserve the Whitetop
region’s style of old time fiddling and banjo picking and are legendary
musicians and teachers of the style. Whitetop
Mountain Band shows are very versatile and entertaining containing everything
from fiddle/banjo instrumentals to powerful solos and harmony vocals on blues,
classic country, honky-tonk, traditional bluegrass numbers, old timey ballads,
originals, and four part mountain gospel songs. Shows also include flat foot
dancing and the band is well known for their high energy and charisma on stage.
